...

PTI Chief Imran Khan discharged from hospital,Exclusive video May 22 2013

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has been discharged from the hospital on Wednesday morning but he will need to wear back support for complete healing of his injuries.

On Tuesday, Imran Khan was fitted with a specially-designed spinal support or brace. Following this, he stood upright and unsupported for the first time since his injury two weeks back.

He had a series of X-rays of his spine which confirmed continued healing and excellent alignment of his backbones. The X-rays were reviewed by a team of radiologists and surgeons, who were very pleased with the results. Shortly, thereafter, Imran walked unaided for over 300 metres and remained pain-free.

The hospital management said that Imran would continue receiving regular physiotherapy and was likely to need to wear the spinal support for some weeks to come. He will gradually increase physical activity over the next few weeks with a return to his full functional capacity expected in approximately six to eight weeks.
As in the past, the SKMCH spokesman said, Imran Khan would be paying the entire cost of his hospitalization at the Shaukat Khanum Hospital. He has been touched by the numerous offers to pay for his care made by friends and well-wishers and has asked that anyone wishing to do so make a contribution to the care of the poor cancer patients at the hospital instead.

Malala Yousafzai Graces TIME’s 100 Most Influential People List

Malala; image @UniteWomenFacebookLovely Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan, was only 14-years old, when she was shot in the head by the Taliban, and left to die. Their aim was to silence her, because Malala had been fighting for the education of girls, who are abused and suppressed around the world. News of the attempted murder shocked the masses, and blazed through social media. Protests began, petitions were started, and people rallied around Malala as if she were their own child. There was an outpour of love and support, as everyday people proclaimed,”We Are Malala”. Miraculously, Malala not only survived, she recovered from her injuries and was back in school within six months.
Chelsea Clinton:
“Malala is now where she wants to be: back in school. The Taliban almost made Malala a martyr;  they succeeded in making her a symbol. The memoir she is writing to raise awareness about the 61 million children around the world who are not in school indicates she accepts that unasked-for responsibility as a synonym for courage and a champion for girls everywhere. However Malala concludes her book, her story so far is only just beginning.”
Now at 15, Malala has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize . And today, she joins the list of  TIME’s 100 Most Influential People In The World, with the likes of President Obama, Pope Francis, Sheryl Sandburg, Gabrielle Giffords, and Beyonce’. The world loves this girl, and it’s no wonder. Malala has a relentlessness, courageous, and remarkable young spirit that drives her to fight for good. She is amazing. And as seen in this short video, she is also quite darling.

here is the video

Malala Got Admission in School at London

LONDON: (SAMAA NEWS) Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani girl who drew global attention after being shot in the head by the Taliban for advocating girls' education, returned to school on Tuesday in Britain where she has been treated for her injuries.

Yousufzai, 15, has become an international figure as a symbol of resistance to Taliban efforts to deny women's rights and is even among nominees for this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

She described her return to school as the most important day of her life.

"I am excited that today I have achieved my dream of going back to school. I want all girls in the world to have this basic opportunity," she said in a statement.

Accompanied by her father and carrying a pink rucksack, Yousufzai joined other pupils at Edgbaston High School for Girls in Birmingham, central England, close to the hospital where she underwent surgery to reconstruct her skull last month.

"I miss my classmates from Pakistan very much but I am looking forward to meeting my teachers and making new friends here in Birmingham," she said.

Yousufzai was brought to Britain for specialist treatment after she was shot in the head at point-blank range by Taliban gunmen last October.

She left hospital in February after she made a good recovery from surgery during which doctors mended parts of her skull with a titanium plate and inserted a cochlear implant to help restore hearing on her left side.

Yousufzai will study a full curriculum at the school, where annual fees are 10,000 pounds ($15,100), before selecting subjects for GCSE exams, which are generally taken at age 16.

"She wants to be a normal teenage girl and to have the support of other girls around," said Edgbaston headteacher Ruth Weeks. "Talking to her, I know that's something she missed during her time in hospital."
